The historic sake brewing district of Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan's largest sake-producing region. Nada has been a brewing powerhouse since the 17th century, renowned for its mineral-rich miyamizu water and bold otoko-zake (masculine sake) style.

Nada's five sub-districts (Nada Gogo) — Imazu, Nishinomiya, Uozaki, Mikage, and Nishi-Nada — are home to major producers including Hakutsuru, Kiku-Masamune, and Sawanotsuru. The region's dominance stems from three advantages: abundant miyamizu water, proximity to the Yamada Nishiki growing areas of northern Hyogo, and historical access to Osaka's shipping routes for national distribution. The 1995 Kobe earthquake devastated many Nada breweries, but most rebuilt, blending centuries of tradition with modern technology. Nada produces roughly 25% of Japan's total sake output.
