เชิงลึก
Tokuri serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. The narrow neck reduces sake's exposure to air, preserving freshness during service. The broad body provides surface area for warming or cooling. Ceramic tokuri retain temperature well — a warm tokuri keeps sake at serving temperature through multiple pours. Traditional tokuri shapes vary by region: the elegant eggplant-shaped nasu-tokuri, the straight-sided tsutsu-tokuri, and the squat barrel-shaped taru-tokuri. Modern tokuri range from rustic handmade pottery to sleek contemporary glass designs. Selecting a tokuri is a personal expression of taste that adds to the sake experience.
