Yamanashi Meijo in Hakushu, Yamanashi (on the Nagano border) produces the renowned Shichiken (Seven Sages) brand. Drawing water from the Southern Alps at the same elevation as Suntory's famous whisky distillery, the brewery produces crystalline, pure sakes with alpine character. Their sparkling sake line has earned particular acclaim internationally.
