Overview
Oka (Cherry Bouquet) is often credited with turning ginjo into a mainstream drinking category in the 1980s, when the style had largely been reserved for competitions and rarely reached consumers. Brewed by Dewazakura in Yamagata from Dewa Sansan rice polished to 50%, it built its reputation on approachable floral and fruit aromatics at an everyday price. This Ginjo reaches 15.5% ABV with a sake meter value of +5, placing it on the dry side, and a low acidity of 1.2. Its flavor is fruit- and floral-driven with a restrained sweetness, and it has remained among Japan's best-selling ginjo for decades.

Oka (Cherry Bouquet) is the sake that made ginjo a mainstream drinking category in the 1980s. Before Dewazakura, ginjo was a competition-only style that rarely reached consumers.
